Simple besan chutney or bombay chutney made using gram flour, spices and fresh onions and tomatoes which makes it taste amazing with idli or dosa.

Besan Chutney Recipe
This is a really quick side dish for dosa or idli. You can make this in few mins and this will be a change from your usual onion, tomato and coconut chutneys. I loved this recipe so much, i made it twice in a row. I have another version of this recipe which i call my instant sambar or thideer sambar, will share it soon.
Green Capsicum Chutney
Red Capsicum Chutney
Onion Chutney
Beetroot Chutney
Chilli Garlic Chutney
Onion Tomato Chutney

How to Make Bombay Chutney
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and urad dal and let them sizzle.
- Add in curry leaves and let them sizzle.
- Add in onions, chilli and tomatoes. Cook that for couple of mins.
- Now add in turmeric and salt and mix well.
- Add in gram flour and toast for 2 mins on a low heat.
- Now add in water and mix well. Bring this to a boil and simmer for few more mins.
- Now add in salt, sugar, lemon juice and coriander leaves.
- Serve this with idli or dosa.

Ingredients
- Oil - 1 tblspn
- Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
- Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
- Onion - 1 medium size chopped
- Tomato - 1 medium size chopped
- Green Chilli - 2 chopped
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Gram Flour / Kadalai Mavu / Besan - 3 tblspn
- Water as needed
- Sugar - ¼ tsp
- Lemon Juice to taste
- Coriander Leaves a handful chopped
Instructions
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and urad dal and let them sizzle.

You can grind whole gram and aombhu together you will get a even better flavour
